Tottenham look to be set for another strong start to the season as they attempt to reach the Champions League for the first time since 1958. The hosts have been drawn with fellow Premier League newcomers Arsenal, who sit bottom of the league having lost three of the last four games.
After their recent run of form, Tottenham have suffered three consecutive defeats in their last five outings, drawing with Manchester United and Burnley to leave them on an 18-game unbeaten run in the league.
Ahead of the trip to White Hart Lane, boss Mauricio Pochettino says his team still have plenty to improve on and are prepared to face plenty of opposition to make them a stro바카라nger side.
“We’re still a very strong team, we’re always trying to improve,” the Uruguay international told reporters after a 2-1 win over the Magpies in the first leg of their clash at Wembley on Saturday.
“We’re not like other teams where when we have the ball our defenders바카라사이트 take it and our goalkeepers are always going to make the best decisions.
“We are trying to take our chances, we are making mistakes and we have to correct it.”
Spurs remain seventh after coming from 2-0 down to the visitors in the FA Cup fifth round after goals from Mousa Dembélé and Harry Kane sparked the win after Spurs had already lost the previous two matches, 1-0 at Liverpool and 1-0 to Crystal Palace.
Harry Kane scores the winner at the Emirates to lift Spurs into the second round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win
However, Spurs were not without their problems to overcome as they were dominated by United in the second-half.
It was only the third time since 2010 that United has lost two consecutive games against the Toffees, though the Spaniard has since helped lead the club to the top of the Premier League table.
Spurs also need to win their next four games to avoid a midweek defeat against their current bottom three rivals, who currently sit 11th in the table.
Pochettino’s side were not without their own problems after losing striker Daniel Sturridge to a knee injury.
He scored his fifth goal of the season at Leicester in the FA Cup fourth round and now joins Danny Welbe바카라ck (20), Ryan Mason (20) and Harry Kane (25) in missing the trip to Arsenal.
